It’s predesessor was featured in the James Bond film Die Another Day. It now boasts a significantly upgraded 6.0-litre V12 petrol engine, and exhibits a luxurious interior and high-class performance. From Aston Martin, the new AM 310 Vanquish.
With additions like a carbon fibre rear spoiler to avoid high speed lift, 565 horsepower, 457 lb ft of torque, and assistance from the Touchtronic 2 six-speed paddle-shift gearbox, the new Vanquish is expected go from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.1 seconds with a max speed of 183 mph.
The new model features Aston Martin’s next generation VH architecture, consisting of an aluminium structure and carbon fibre body panels. This combination is expected to make the car lighter than the DBS, which the Vanquish replaces.
Maintaining the relationship between Aston Martin and Bang & Olufsen, the new model is fitted with a 1000 watt, 15 speaker audio system.
The new Vanquish is heavily influenced by the limited edition One-77, which is Aston Martin’s fastest supercar.
In the video linked above, Marek Reichman talks about his favourite line in the design of the One-77 linking from the top of the headlamp, down the side, continuing through the back, and onto the opposing side. You can see this line on the Vanquish as well, showing just how influenced the Vanquish’s design has been from that of the One-77.
Both the interior and exterior of the Vanquish are beautifully designed, with the technology and performance complimenting the design perfectly. The Aston Martin website allows you to configure your own Vanquish, which you can find here.
The car goes on sale early next year, and will cost around $280,000 (£189,995).
