Following the US$120 million refurbishment, the Rosewood Hotel Georgia has undergone extensive changes. The hotel reopened on the 7th of May, 2011, exactly 84 years after its initial opening.
Since its first opening, the Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver has hosted Board of Trade meetings and seen the likes of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and The Rolling Stones come through their doors.
The fine attention to detail is evident throughout the hotel’s refurbishment, ensuring an astounding result. Boasting one of the largest chandeliers in North America, the lobby area chandelier is made up of over 24,000 Lily-cut Swarovski crystals.
Including Nespresso coffee makers, HD flat screen televisions and Italian linens, Hotel Georgia provides stunning rooms regardless of price range. The bathrooms have oversized towels, heated floors, soaker baths and rain showers, adding to the desirability of the well thought out suite experience.
One of the hotel’s many facilities is the Rosewood Spa. Offering a range of services including massages, therapies, treatments and facials, seperate facilities for both men and women ensure that everyone can enjoy the luxuries that the Rosewood Spa provides.
Another of the excellent facilities that the hotel provides is the indoor salt water lap pool, which is located close to the hotel’s gym, letting you cool down easily after a thorough workout.
Chef David Hawksworth runs the hotel’s primary restaurant, Hawksworth Restaurant, specialising in Canadian cuisine. There is also a seated lounge and bar area, with a first floor private dining area overlooking the exquisite art gallery (notable artists include Damien Hirst, Douglas Coupland and Patrick Hughes).
If all of that isn’t enough, in 2013 the Prohibition bar will be opened. Acknowledging the hotel’s 1920s roots, the bar will provide evening entertainment and an extensive list of vintage cocktails, adding to the elegant and indulgent list of facilities within the hotel.
